From the project audit of 13 October 2026: the live sitemaps, one mobile Lighthouse run and query counts measured the same way before and after. Product figures, not sales.
The challenge
Ambalaje Catering sells disposable HoReCa packaging — meal trays, soup bowls, pizza boxes, cups, cutlery and consumables — by the set and by the case, invoiced to the business, to restaurants, pizzerias, fast-food outlets, patisseries, cafés and caterers. A large catalogue, 537 products across 80 categories, on shared hosting: the catalogue page took 4,755 database queries and 3.4 seconds of server work for a single view.
What we built
A B2B store rebuilt in full, to new designs: a header with a large search, a category menu and a home page in sections — categories, “For your business”, product selections, kits, frequent questions and the showroom.
Catalogue, search and ordering
The catalogue filters on attributes — lid, compartments, volume, material, colour, diameter, packing, use — with pagination Google can crawl. Search is instant, on Meilisearch. Every card offers the choice between set and case and adds to the basket straight from the list, followed by a checkout invoiced to the business.
Visibility in Google
A Google Shopping feed of 535 products, dedicated pages for 17 types of business, kits and a blog, plus full technical SEO: structured data, canonicals and six sitemaps. All 614 old URLs lead through a 301 redirect to the right page, and any slug changed from now on gets its redirect by itself.
Speed and infrastructure
Page caching, WebP images and a query budget on every page. The store now runs on its own server, with automated deploys by release, a return to the previous release and a separate staging environment.
Before and after
Shared hosting → its own server, with automated deploys. The catalogue page: 4,755 queries → 21. Server time for the same page: 3.4 seconds → under a second, served from cache.
The result
A HoReCa packaging B2B store rebuilt in full and moved to its own server: 537 products across 80 categories, a 98/100 mobile Lighthouse score, 226× fewer database queries on the catalogue page (4,755 down to 21) and all 614 old URLs redirected, so that the Google rankings carry over to the new pages. Redesign built, migration and launch in ~30 hours, with the site live 23 hours after the first commit.
In detail
The store has been live on www.ambalaje-catering.ro since 12 October 2026: disposable HoReCa packaging, by the set and by the case, invoiced to the business.
